to Fernvale Community Gardening Project,
our aim is to create an outside environment around our school buildings to extend the classroom learning experience for our children outdoors, to create areas for learning, playing and relaxing.

We would like to develop area's for our children and other people in our local community to use and enjoy, creating a resource that enhances our neighbourhood.

Phase one is an area for growing vegetables, flowers and plants. We aim to build raised beds and a pathway which makes the area accessible to all, including wheelchair users. We would like to invite local community groups, children's groups and local residents to use this garden.

Phase two will be to develop another area into a Sensory Garden and Wild Flower meadow. This links directly to the new curriculum for science and creates a live environment for children to work and play in.

Phase three will be to rejuvenate our pond area. This is a perfect opportunity to redevelop and revive this natural habitat.

Phase four will be the development of a forest school, to do this we will be planting different trees on our site. Here we aim to develop the understanding of our woodlands. Further we can develop children’s understanding of renewable resources and the environmental impact that we have on our world.

As you can see we have a very clear vision of what we want to achieve for our school and the local community, but we can’t do this on our own. This is where you come in, we are asking for your help to please donate anything you can to help us.......please read more
